What a pest control change order is for
Pest problems change: rodents show up in fall, a termite swarm appears in spring, a customer finishes the basement. Adding service without writing it down leads to billing disputes. A short change order with the added service, the new price and when it starts keeps the plan and the invoice in agreement.
What to put on a pest control change order
- The current plan and price.
- The new pest or area and what was found.
- Added and removed services.
- The new price and start date.
- Customer approval.
A worked example
In the fall the quarterly customer hears mice in the attic. You find entry points at the roof returns. They also drop mosquito service for the winter.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rodent exclusion, seal roof return gaps | 3 | hour | Your price |
| Rodent trapping, follow-up visits | 3 | visit | Your price |
| Credit: mosquito visits not needed | -2 | visit | Your price |
Note where the entry points were. If mice return through a gap you did not seal, the change order shows what was in scope.
