What a pressure washing change order is for

Pressure washing jobs grow in the driveway: once one surface is clean, the customer wants the next. Heavy growth on a north wall can also take far more mix and time than planned. A written change with the new total, approved before the extra work, keeps the payment at the end friendly.

What to put on a pressure washing change order

  • The original price.
  • What was added or found.
  • Added and removed lines.
  • The new total.
  • Approval before the extra work.

A worked example

After the house wash, the customer adds the fence and the pool deck, and decides against sealing the driveway this year.

LineQtyUnitPriceAmount
Fence cleaning, both sides120ftYour price
Pool deck cleaning *400sq ft$0.32$128.00
Credit: concrete sealing not done-600sq ftYour price

The pool deck reuses the concrete price at its own area, and the sealing credit comes off. The customer signs one page and the crew keeps going.

FAQ

When does a pressure washing job need a change order?

When the customer adds surfaces, drops part of the job, or the growth or stains need much more work than quoted. Get approval before doing the extra work.

How do I price added surfaces on the day?

Use the same per-square-foot price as the estimate for the same surface type, and measure the added area before you start.

Can I credit work the customer drops?

Yes. Enter it with a minus quantity and the template takes it off the change total, so the new price is clear before you start.

What if growth is heavier than expected?

Show the customer, explain the extra time and mix, and price it on a change order before continuing. Heavy growth on shaded walls is common.
