- Calls answered or texted back while you are on a job, online booking that only offers times that fit your day, and estimates with options, signed with the deposit on one page matter most.
- Koira covers it with no per-person fee: customers book online (Office (free)); estimates (Office (free)); options on one estimate (Office, up to three).
- Prices and card rates for Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceM8 are from each company's own pages.
What field service software does
Field service software runs the part of a trade business that happens away from the job: taking the call, booking the visit, sending the estimate, putting the day in order and getting paid. The bigger systems add a dispatch board, inventory, payroll and job costing for companies with an office and a fleet.
A one to three person shop needs less of the office and more of the follow-through. Most lost money in a small shop is a missed call, an estimate nobody followed up, or an invoice written on Sunday night. The right software catches those without adding a desk job.
What to look for
- Calls answered or texted back while you are on a job
- Online booking that only offers times that fit your day
- Estimates with options, signed with the deposit on one page
- The day in driving order, with day-before reminders
- The invoice sent when you finish, paid at the door
- Follow-ups on open estimates that stop when they sign
- Review asks after every paid job
- No per-person fee as you add a helper
How Koira does it
Koira's Office plan is free and covers the core: a website that books jobs, an instant price from your own list, estimates with up to three options signed and paid on one page, the day plan in driving order, reminders the day before, invoices that go out when you tap done, a QR code to get paid at the door, and a page for every customer.
Grow, $249 a month plus usage at cost, adds the AI receptionist and text-back on a Koira number, automatic bid follow-ups, seasonal campaigns, referrals and QuickBooks Online sync. Front Office, $499 flat, adds maintenance plans sold on your site, crew routes and hours, and commercial outreach. There is no per-person fee on any plan.
