Key takeaways
  • Every stop in driving order, new bookings placed where the drive makes sense, and each tech's stops on their own phone matter most.
  • Koira covers it with no per-person fee: stops sorted by the drive (Office (stops sorted by the drive)); crew scheduling (Front Office); time tracking (Front Office).
  • Prices and card rates for Housecall Pro, Service Fusion, FieldPulse are from each company's own pages.

What dispatch software does

Dispatch software decides who goes where and when. In a big shop that is a dispatcher at a board, dragging jobs between techs as calls come in. In a small shop it is usually the owner, between jobs, on a phone.

What a small shop needs is not a bigger board. It is the day sorted by the drive, new calls dropped where they fit, the customer told when the tech is on the way, and each person seeing only their own stops.

What to look for

  • Every stop in driving order
  • New bookings placed where the drive makes sense
  • Each tech's stops on their own phone
  • On-my-way texts with a time
  • Who is on a job, driving or done, at a glance
  • Hours by person and by job
  • Works with no signal
  • No per-person fee for techs

How Koira does it

Koira does dispatch without a board. Every booking, from a call, a text or your site, lands on Today in driving order on its own, and Koira only offers customers times that fit the route. When a tech leaves a stop, the next customer gets a text with how many minutes out they are and a link to watch them come.

On Front Office, $499 a month flat, each person gets a lane with their stops in driving order on their own phone, clocks in and out of jobs, and shows as on a job, driving or clocked out. Hours add up by person and by job, and there is no per-person fee. Taps are saved on the phone with no signal and sync later.

Where Koira is lighterKoira has no drag-and-drop dispatch board for a dispatcher to move jobs between techs. Instead the day is sorted by the drive automatically, and when a job moves the lanes re-sort on their own. If a dispatcher assigns dozens of calls a day by hand, a board-based system may suit you better.

Card rates as each company publishes them (also Service Fusion Payments), checked October 9, 2026. Koira's is Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card plus Koira's share, which pays for Office in place of a monthly fee.

How to choose

If one person books and dispatches between their own jobs, automatic routing and on-my-way texts save more time than a board. If a full-time dispatcher moves jobs all day, look at a board-based system and its per-tech price.

Koira's plans and prices are on one page, and Office is free with no time limit.
