What a pool service change order is for
Weekly service turns up repairs: a leaking pump seal, a failing heater, a cracked skimmer. And customers change plans with the seasons. A written change with the repair or new plan price, approved before work, keeps monthly billing right and avoids the surprise repair line nobody agreed to.
What to put on a pool service change order
- The current plan or estimate.
- What was found or requested.
- Added and removed lines.
- The new price or monthly amount.
- Customer approval before work.
A worked example
During service the tech finds the pump seal leaking and the customer asks to add a heat pump heater before fall. They drop the salt cell care since the cell is new.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Replace pump shaft seal | 1 | each | Your price |
| Heat pump pool heater, installed | 1 | each | Your price |
| Credit: salt cell care not needed this season | -1 | month | Your price |
Note the heater model in the line once chosen. The credit comes off the change total because its quantity is negative.
