What a pool service service agreement is for

Pool service runs on trust: you are in the back yard every week, often with nobody home. A written agreement sets the visit checklist, how chemicals are billed, gate and pet rules, and what happens after storms. It also says what you are not responsible for, such as water quality between visits when equipment fails.

What to put on a pool service service agreement

  • Visit frequency and checklist.
  • Chemicals included or billed by use.
  • Access, pets and gate rules.
  • Storm, party and extra visits.
  • What you are not responsible for.
  • Price, billing, renewal and cancellation.

A worked example

The salt pool owner signs for a year of weekly service with chemicals included.

Set billing to Monthly and the plan shows a per-month amount. Treat it as a starting template rather than legal advice, and look up your state's rules before you rely on it.

What is a pool company not responsible for?

Commonly water quality between visits when equipment fails, damage from storms, and problems from the owner adding chemicals. Say so in the agreement.

Should pool agreements renew automatically?

Some do, but some states have rules on automatic renewal. Check your state's rules. Many pool companies renew by sending a new agreement each spring instead.
