What a flooring service agreement is for

Hardwood floors last decades if they are screened and recoated before the finish wears through. Rentals and offices need quick plank swaps and grout care between tenants. A care agreement sets the schedule and the rates, which keeps floors looking right and keeps you in touch with the customer.

What to put on a flooring service agreement

  • Floors and areas covered.
  • Screen and recoat or cleaning cycle.
  • Repair rates for planks or tiles.
  • Grout cleaning and sealing.
  • Exclusions like water damage.
  • Price, billing and cancellation.

A worked example

An office with hardwood in the lobby wants it recoated yearly and quick plank swaps when chairs damage boards.

FAQ

What does a floor care plan include?

A yearly screen and recoat for hardwood or a cleaning cycle for tile and grout, with repair rates for planks or tiles. Water damage is usually excluded.

How often should hardwood be recoated?

It depends on traffic. Recoating before the finish wears through avoids a full sand and refinish. Inspect yearly and set the cycle.

Who buys floor care plans?

Offices, retail stores, landlords and homeowners with hardwood they want to keep looking new. Busy lobbies and rentals between tenants are the usual fit.

Is this flooring agreement legal advice?

No. It is a template. Confirm your state's rules on service agreements before using it. Have it reviewed if you sell it to commercial clients.
