What an auto detailing service agreement is for
Maintenance plans turn one-time details into monthly income, and fleets need cars cleaned on a schedule. The agreement lists the vehicles, the service on each visit and where it happens, plus what counts as extra, like a vehicle returned with spilled milk. Spell out how a missed appointment is handled too.
What to put on an auto detailing service agreement
- Vehicles covered.
- Visit frequency and service on each.
- Location and access for mobile service.
- Extras and condition surcharges.
- Price, billing and cancellation.
A worked example
A coated sedan owner wants a maintenance wash every two weeks to keep the coating at its best.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maintenance wash for coated vehicle | 26 | visit | Your price |
| Interior tidy each visit | 26 | each | Your price |
| Coating topper, quarterly | 4 | each | Your price |
Set billing to Monthly to show a per-month amount. This is a template, not legal advice; check your state's rules on service agreements and renewals.

Terms and deposit language for auto detailing
- Deposit. Coatings and paint correction often take a deposit to hold the day. Washes and standard details usually do not.
- Payment. Due when the vehicle is handed back, after the customer has looked it over.
- Warranty. Coating durability claims come from the maker and depend on upkeep; say what you stand behind and what voids it.
- Some scratches, stains and odors cannot be fully removed; say so before you start.
- Remove valuables from the vehicle; you are not responsible for items left inside.
- Mobile jobs need water and power access or a fee for bringing your own.
How to fill it in
- Fill in the customer and the start and end dates.
- List what each visit includes and how many visits a year.
- Add your price per line; the plan shows a yearly total, and a monthly figure if billed monthly.
- Fill in what is not covered and the renewal and cancellation terms.
- Check your state's rules, then print it for signatures.
