What an auto detailing receipt is for
Coating customers need a receipt to register the warranty with the maker, and businesses detailing company cars need receipts for expense reports. A receipt naming the vehicle, the services and the product makes both easy. Mobile customers who pay by card on the driveway also like a receipt by text.
What to put on an auto detailing receipt
- The vehicle and VIN or plate if needed.
- Services and products.
- Amount and payment method.
- Balance remaining for deposits.
A worked example
A customer paid a deposit to book a ceramic coating day for a new sedan.

Type the deposit in Amount received. When the coating is done, a second receipt with the product name is what the warranty registration asks for.

Terms and deposit language for auto detailing
- Deposit. Coatings and paint correction often take a deposit to hold the day. Washes and standard details usually do not.
- Payment. Due when the vehicle is handed back, after the customer has looked it over.
- Warranty. Coating durability claims come from the maker and depend on upkeep; say what you stand behind and what voids it.
- Some scratches, stains and odors cannot be fully removed; say so before you start.
- Remove valuables from the vehicle; you are not responsible for items left inside.
- Mobile jobs need water and power access or a fee for bringing your own.
How to fill it in
- Fill in who paid and which job or invoice the payment is for.
- Check the lines; they show what the payment covers.
- Pick how they paid and add the check or reference number.
- Type the amount received, or leave it blank when it pays the whole total.
- Print it, download it, or hand it over as a PDF.
