What a tree service receipt is for
After storms, homeowners often claim tree removal from insurance, and the adjuster asks for receipts. A receipt naming the address, the tree, the date and what it fell on gives them what they need. It also helps HOAs and cities that asked for a hazard tree to be removed.
What to put on a tree service receipt
- Address and date.
- The tree and what was done.
- Storm or damage details for insurance.
- Amount and payment method.
A worked example
A storm dropped a limb on a garage roof. The homeowner paid by card for emergency removal and needs a receipt for the insurance claim.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emergency storm removal, limb off garage roof | 4 | hour | Your price | |
| Haul away wood and debris * | 1 | each | $144.00 | $144.00 |
Put what the tree fell on and the storm date in the notes. Adjusters ask for both.
