What a deck receipt is for
Deck season is short, and a deposit is how an owner holds a spring build week. A receipt with the build week, the material ordered and the balance makes that hold feel real. The final receipt sits in the house file next to the permit, which is what a buyer's inspector looks for.
What to put on a deck receipt
- How much was paid, when, and the way it was paid.
- Deck size and material.
- Deposit, stage or final.
- What is left to pay.
A worked example
