What a glass receipt is for
Between the deposit and install, the owner waits on the fabricator. A receipt that names each piece ordered, the deposit and the expected install week keeps them confident. The final receipt also records the glass type, which matters if the unit ever fogs again under the fabricator's warranty.
What to put on a glass receipt
- Amount received, when, and by what method.
- Pieces of glass ordered.
- Deposit or final.
- Balance at install.
A worked example
The owner paid the deposit to order the pane and the shower door. Enter it in Amount received.

Terms and deposit language for glass
- Deposit. Custom glass is cut to size and cannot be returned, so a deposit is due before it is ordered. Check your state's home improvement deposit rules.
- Payment. Balance due at install.
- Warranty. The fabricator warrants the glass and seals. You warrant the install: leaks at the glazing and hardware you mounted. Breakage after install is not covered.
- Measurements are taken at the measure visit; glass is ordered to those sizes.
- Safety glass is used where code calls for it.
- Frames found rotten or damaged are priced before glass goes in.
How to fill it in
- Fill in who paid and which job or invoice the payment is for.
- Check the lines; they show what the payment covers.
- Pick how they paid and add the check or reference number.
- Type the amount received, or leave it blank when it pays the whole total.
- Print it, download it, or hand it over as a PDF.
