What a glass service agreement is for
A broken storefront at night is a security problem before it is a glass problem. Shop owners and property managers want one call that gets a board-up tonight and new glass this week at a known rate. A yearly check of seals, door closers and hardware keeps you in front of them in between.

A property manager with a strip of six shops wants priority board-ups and a yearly check.

Terms and deposit language for glass
- Deposit. Custom glass is cut to size and cannot be returned, so a deposit is due before it is ordered. Check your state's home improvement deposit rules.
- Payment. Balance due at install.
- Warranty. The fabricator warrants the glass and seals. You warrant the install: leaks at the glazing and hardware you mounted. Breakage after install is not covered.
- Measurements are taken at the measure visit; glass is ordered to those sizes.
- Safety glass is used where code calls for it.
- Frames found rotten or damaged are priced before glass goes in.
How to fill it in
- Fill in the customer and the start and end dates.
- List what each visit includes and how many visits a year.
- Add your price per line; the plan shows a yearly total, and a monthly figure if billed monthly.
- Fill in what is not covered and the renewal and cancellation terms.
- Check your state's rules, then print it for signatures.
