What a locksmith service agreement is for

Property managers rekey on every move-out, and businesses need key control when staff change. An agreement with set rates per rekey, priority response and key records saves them quotes and gives you steady weekday work. It must say who can authorize work. Keep the list of authorized people current.

What to put on a locksmith service agreement

  • Properties covered.
  • Set rates for rekeys and keys.
  • Who can authorize work.
  • Priority response for lockouts.
  • Key records kept.
  • Billing and cancellation.

A worked example

A property manager with eighty units wants every turnover rekeyed and fast lockout service for tenants.

FAQ

What goes in a locksmith service agreement?

Properties covered, set rates, who can authorize work, priority response, key records and billing. Keep it to one page so a property manager can approve it quickly.

Why list who can authorize work?

So you never rekey or open a unit on the word of someone without authority. It protects you and the owner.

Who buys locksmith agreements?

Property managers, landlords, schools, offices and retailers with frequent rekeys or staff changes. Anyone who rekeys often saves by setting rates once.

Is this locksmith agreement legal advice?

No. It is a template. Locksmiths are licensed in some states, so confirm your state's rules. Have it reviewed before you sign a large account.
