What a garage door service agreement is for
Garage doors fail at the worst moment, and a yearly tune-up catches worn springs and cables before they break. HOAs and businesses with many doors value set pricing and priority repairs. The agreement lists the doors, the tune-up checklist and member rates on repairs. A record of each tune-up also helps if a door ever causes an injury claim.
What to put on a garage door service agreement
- Doors covered.
- Tune-up checklist and timing.
- Safety tests.
- Priority repair response and member rates.
- What is not covered.
- Price, billing and cancellation.
A worked example
A small business with three overhead doors wants yearly service and fast repairs when a door stops working.

|---|---|---|---|
| Yearly door tune-up and safety test | 3 | each | Your price |
| Priority repair response, as needed | 1 | each | Your price |
Parts are extra; say so in the Not covered box. It is a template, not legal advice, so confirm your state's rules before using it.
