What a garage door invoice is for
Garage door customers want proof that the parts they paid for went in, especially after a hurried morning repair. The invoice lists each part with its rating or model and the safety test results, which also backs up the warranty if the door acts up later.
What to put on a garage door invoice
- Parts replaced with sizes or models.
- Labor and the service call.
- Safety test results.
- Deposit received for doors.
- Warranty terms.
A worked example
The springs, cables and rollers are replaced and the door is balanced. The customer added a new keypad at the end.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Service call and safety inspection | 1 | each | Your price |
| Torsion spring replacement, pair | 1 | set | Your price |
| Lift cables | 1 | set | Your price |
| Rollers, nylon | 1 | set | Your price |
| Wireless keypad, added | 1 | each | Your price |
Put the spring rating and the balance and reverse test in the notes. Those are what a warranty call will ask about.
