What a window and door invoice is for
The invoice lands while the owner is opening every new sash and checking every lock. An invoice that lists each opening as installed, shows any rot repair with the feet and photos, and repeats who to call about the manufacturer warranty closes the job cleanly on the day the crew packs up.
What to put on a window and door invoice
- Openings installed, by room.
- Rot repair feet with photos.
- Deposit received and the balance due.
- Who handles manufacturer warranty claims.
- The registration or serial details if the brand needs them.
A worked example
All ten windows and the door are in. The sill under the kitchen window had six feet of rot, repaired at the estimate price.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Replacement window, insert install | 10 | each | Your price |
| Entry door, prehung | 1 | each | Your price |
| Exterior capping, aluminum | 11 | each | Your price |
| Sill and frame rot repair, kitchen | 6 | ft | Your price |
Attach the before photo of the rotten sill. It answers the question before the owner asks it.

- Warranty. The manufacturer warrants the units. You warrant the install: leaks at the opening and operation problems caused by how it was set. Say for how long.
