What a tree service invoice is for
The tree invoice should read like the estimate the customer signed, plus anything agreed on the day, such as a second stump or crane time. The customer should be able to walk the yard with the invoice and see each item done: tree gone, stump ground, wood hauled, ruts raked.
What to put on a tree service invoice
- Each tree and stump, matching the estimate.
- Extras agreed on the day.
- Wood and debris handling.
- Cleanup done.
- Payment terms.
A worked example
The oak is down and the stump ground. The customer asked for a second small stump by the fence while the grinder was there.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tree removal, medium, 30 to 60 ft * | 1 | each | $614.00 | $614.00 |
| Stump grinding (18 in) * | 1 | each | $275.00 | $275.00 |
| Stump grinding, small stump by fence, added on site * | 1 | each | $275.00 | $275.00 |
| Haul away wood and debris * | 1 | each | $144.00 | $144.00 |
| Total before tax | $1,308.00 |
The added stump reuses the grinding price with a note. If yours is smaller, change the price on that line.
