What an irrigation invoice is for

Irrigation customers often are not home for service visits, and new system invoices are large. Listing the zones installed, the parts replaced on repairs and the settings left on the controller gives them a record they can use when something leaks next season. It also helps the next tech who services the system.

What to put on an irrigation invoice

  • Zones or parts installed.
  • Repairs, with locations.
  • Controller settings left.
  • Deposit and the balance.
  • Payment terms.

A worked example

The new system is in and walked with the owner. One extra spray zone was added for a side yard.

The extra spray zone is in the spray line. Put the controller schedule in the notes so the owner can find it later.

FAQ

What goes on an irrigation invoice?

The zones or parts installed, repairs with locations, controller settings, deposit and balance, and payment terms. It is the owner's system record.

Should I note controller settings?

Yes. Owners often change settings and forget what worked. A note on the invoice helps them reset. A photo of the controller screen works too.

How do I invoice start-ups and winterizations?

As a visit line, plus any parts replaced. Many contractors bill them as part of a yearly plan.

Can irrigation customers pay online?

Yes, from a Koira invoice pay link, which helps since they are often not home during service. The payment is recorded without anyone needing to be home.
