What a pest control invoice is for

Pest control customers often are not home during exterior service, so the invoice is how they learn what was done. Listing the areas treated, the pests targeted and any findings, such as new activity in the garage, shows value on every visit. Some states also require service records to be given to the customer.

What to put on a pest control invoice

  • Date and service type.
  • Areas treated and pests targeted.
  • Findings and recommendations.
  • Re-service visits at no charge, if any.
  • Payment terms.

A worked example

The quarterly visit: exterior barrier, garage and eaves swept for webs, and a new ant trail treated in the kitchen.

Put what you found in the notes, such as the ant trail and the gap under the garage door. Recommendations on the invoice also back up an add-on later.

FAQ

What should a pest control invoice include?

The service date and type, areas treated, pests targeted, findings and recommendations, and payment terms. Some states require service records to include the products used.

Do I need to list products used?

Some states require it on the service record. Check your state's rules. The notes box can hold product names and amounts.

How do I invoice re-service visits?

If the plan covers them, list the visit at no charge so the customer sees you came back. If not, price it as its own line.

Should pest control be billed per visit or monthly?

Either works. Monthly billing smooths the cost for customers; per visit matches what was done. Say which in your terms.
