What a concrete invoice is for
The concrete invoice comes as the forms come off, when the customer is looking at a fresh slab and wondering about every mark. An invoice that matches the estimate, lists any extras like a pump truck or extra base, and repeats the curing advice keeps the focus on the work.
What to put on a concrete invoice
- Square footage poured, thickness and finish.
- Removal, base and reinforcement.
- Extras like a pump truck or extra base.
- Deposit and the balance.
- Curing and care advice.
A worked example
The driveway is poured and the forms are off. Soft ground needed two extra yards of base. The deposit was paid at signing.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Concrete driveway, 4 in * | 480 | sq ft | $13.50 | $6,480.00 |
| Wire mesh reinforcement * | 480 | sq ft | $0.35 | $168.00 |
| Remove and haul old driveway | 480 | sq ft | Your price | |
| Gravel base, compacted, including two extra yards | 8 | cu yd | Your price | |
| Sawed control joints | 90 | ft | Your price |
The extra base is in the base line with a note. If it went on a change order, list the change order number instead.

- Warranty. Concrete cracks; control joints guide where. Say what you warrant (such as heaving, scaling or settling beyond a set amount) and what you do not (hairline cracks, damage from salt or heavy trucks).
- Pour dates depend on weather and temperature; say how a rain day is handled.
