What a carpet cleaning receipt is for
Tenants often need proof of professional carpet cleaning to get their deposit back, and many leases name it. A receipt with the address, the rooms cleaned and the date is that proof. Homeowners selling a house use them too. Keep a copy yourself; deposit disputes can come back to you months later.
What to put on a carpet cleaning receipt
- The address and date.
- Rooms and areas cleaned.
- Amount and payment method.
- Who paid, if a landlord or tenant.
A worked example
A tenant moving out paid by card for all carpeted rooms in an empty apartment and asked for a receipt for the landlord.

Terms and deposit language for carpet cleaning
- Deposit. No deposit on residential jobs; commercial or large jobs may take one to hold the date.
- Payment. Due when the job is done, before the crew leaves.
- Warranty. If a spot reappears within a short window from wicking, you come back to treat it at no charge. Say the window, and that some stains are permanent.
- Drying time depends on airflow and humidity; keep traffic off until dry.
- Pet urine may need more than one treatment and may not fully remove odor if it reached the pad.
- Customer moves fragile and valuable items before the visit.

- Pick how they paid and add the check or reference number.
- Type the amount received, or leave it blank when it pays the whole total.
