What an auto detailing work order is for
A detail done by a second tech should match the one you sold, and that depends on writing down the problem spots, the customer's concerns and the products for that paint and interior. The work order also records existing damage at drop-off, which protects you from being blamed for a chip that was already there.
What to put on an auto detailing work order
- The vehicle and package.
- Problem spots and customer concerns.
- Existing damage noted at drop-off.
- Products for paint and interior.
- Mobile site access, water and power.
- Final inspection sign-off.
A worked example
The SUV at drop-off. Prices are hidden.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interior: vacuum, pet hair, shampoo rear seats | 1 | each | Your price |
| Exterior: wash, clay, one-step polish | 1 | each | Your price |
| Headlight restoration | 1 | set | Your price |
| Engine bay, low pressure | 1 | each | Your price |
List existing damage in the notes at drop-off, with photos: a door ding, a cracked mirror cap. It takes a minute and settles any question at pickup.
