What a restoration work order is for
The first hours on a water loss decide the whole job. A work order that names the source and whether it is stopped, the water category, which rooms and materials are wet, where each unit goes, how high to cut and what protective gear is needed lets any tech run the job and log it the same way.
What to put on a restoration work order
- Source of loss and whether it is stopped.
- Category of water.
- Rooms and materials affected.
- Equipment placement plan.
- Flood cut height and disposal.
- Protective gear and drying goal.
A worked example
Night response to the supply line leak; prices are left off the tech's copy.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Confirm water off at the main, photo the source | 1 | each | Your price |
| Extract laundry and hall | 200 | sq ft | Your price |
| Flood cut at 2 feet, hall and laundry | 40 | ft | Your price |
| Set air movers and dehumidifier | 5 | each | Your price |
Take the first moisture readings before equipment goes on. Every later reading is compared to them.
