What a tile work order is for

Tile is permanent the moment the thinset sets. A work order with the layout center line, where the cuts go, niche height, accent band height and grout color stops the mistakes that mean tearing tile back out. It also schedules the return trips around cure times so the crew is not standing in a wet shower.

What to put on a tile work order

  • Layout start point and where cuts fall.
  • Tile size, pattern and grout color.
  • Niche and band heights.
  • Pan slope and drain location.
  • Cure time before each next step.

FAQ

What goes on a tile work order?

The layout start point and where the cuts land, tile size and pattern, grout color, niche and band heights, pan slope and the cure time before each step.

Why flood test the shower pan?

Because once wall tile is up, a leaking pan means tearing it all out. A flood test and a photo prove the pan holds water first.

Should cure times be on the tile work order?

Yes. They decide when the crew comes back, and grouting or using a shower too early causes failures that land on you.

Does the setter need the job price?

No. Leave prices off the setter's copy so the page is about layout, heights, colors and cure times.

We know what works. Leave it to Koira.
