What a chimney work order is for
A clean chimney job depends on protecting the living room: drop cloths, sealed openings, vacuums running. The work order lists the appliance, the number of flues, roof access and the protection plan, so a sweep leaves no soot on the carpet. It also records the inspection findings.
What to put on a chimney work order
- Appliance and fuel type.
- Number of flues.
- Roof access and ladder setup.
- Protection inside the home.
- Inspection findings to record.
- Sign-off.
A worked example
A sweep and camera inspection on a two-story house. Prices are hidden.
| Line | Qty | Unit | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lay drop cloths and seal fireplace opening | 1 | each | Your price |
| Sweep flue from the top | 1 | each | Your price |
| Camera inspection and photos | 1 | each | Your price |

Put the cream carpet and the steep back roof in site notes. Those two lines decide how the crew sets up.
