Key takeaways
  • For a flooring company, the features that decide the software are options on one estimate, deposits at signing, customer financing.
  • Koira covers that list on Office (free), with no per-person fee.
  • Prices and card rates for Jobber, Housecall Pro and JobTread are from each company's own pages.
  • Count the people who will use it before you compare prices.

What a flooring company needs from software

A flooring sale is a choice between materials. The homeowner wants to see what the good, the better and the best floor would cost for the same rooms, and most of the selling happens in that comparison.

Once it is sold, the money moves early: material is ordered and acclimated before the crew arrives. A flooring business that takes the deposit at signing and collects the final on install day never floats a whole house of material.

  • Options on one estimate. Laminate, luxury vinyl or hardwood at three prices is the conversation every flooring sale turns on.
  • Deposits at signing. Flooring is ordered and acclimated before install, so the material money should come in at signing.
  • Customer financing. A whole-house floor is a big number, and paying over time makes the better material possible.
  • Automatic estimate follow-ups. Homeowners compare samples for weeks, and the bid that checks in politely stays in the running.
  • Day-before reminders. Furniture moved and pets put away on install day saves an hour at the door.
  • Paid on the spot. The final is easiest to collect while the homeowner is looking at the new floor.

A plain checklist for flooring software

  • Good, better, best materials on one estimate
  • Deposit at signing for the material order
  • Pay over time for a whole-house job
  • Follow-ups while they compare samples
  • A day-before text about furniture and access
  • Paid at the door on install day
  • Photos of finished rooms on your site
  • A review ask after the final is paid

How Koira covers the list

Options on one estimate. Up to three options on one estimate, each with a photo and a plain description, from your own price list.

Deposits at signing. Your deposit rule rides on every estimate and is paid when they sign.

Customer financing. The pay page offers Affirm or Klarna. The customer applies on their own phone and you never run credit.

Automatic estimate follow-ups. On Grow, Koira nudges every open estimate on day two and day four, then stops.

Day-before reminders. The day before, Koira texts the customer to confirm or move the visit.

Paid on the spot. The invoice opens as a QR code at the door: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or pay over time.

What Koira does not doKoira does not do payroll, inventory or a dispatch board for a call center. If you need those, a larger system may suit you better.

What to compare

The features that matter most to a flooring company, and where each first appears on each company's public pricing page, then the people, usage, card and add-on rows every company gets. It is not a full feature list for anyone, including us.

From Jobber pricing and Housecall Pro pricing, checked October 8, 2026; JobTread pricing, checked October 9, 2026. Jobber's pricing page blocks a plain fetch and changes its prices with a team size picker, so we read it in a real browser. The $29 a month per added user is in the note behind each plan's user count. Part of Housecall Pro's pricing page fills in by script and it was running first-month offers when we checked. The plan prices below are the regular ones its plan cards show. A cell names the lowest plan that lists the feature; "Not listed" means we did not see it, so ask. Prices change often, so check the page before you buy.

Card rates as each company publishes them (also JobTread online payments), checked October 9, 2026. Koira's is Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card plus Koira's share, which pays for Office in place of a monthly fee.

How to choose

Look at how many bids stall at the sample stage. If many do, options and follow-ups decide the software. If you float material, deposits come first. Koira covers both on the free plan; follow-ups are on Grow. It does not do room takeoffs from plans.

Whichever you try, put one real week of jobs through it before you commit. Koira has a free plan, and the others offer free trials or demos, so ask.

FAQ

What is the best software for a small flooring company?

One that puts material options side by side, takes the deposit at signing and collects the final on install day. Koira does those on the free Office plan.

Can customers finance a flooring job?

With Koira the pay page offers Affirm or Klarna. Approval and terms are between the customer and the lender.

Does Koira charge per person for a flooring company?

No. Koira costs the same with one person or fifteen. Office is free, Grow is $249 a month plus usage at cost, and Front Office is $499 a month flat.

What does Koira charge on card payments?

Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card, plus Koira's share: 2% on Office, 1% on Grow and 0.5% on Front Office. The tables above show each company's own card rate next to it.
