What a holiday lighting proposal is for

Owners know they want the house to look good, not how many feet of roofline that takes. Three displays for the same house, with a photo of each, turn a vague wish into a quick choice. Most pick by look and budget, and the deposit holds their date.

What to put on a holiday lighting proposal

  • The same house in each display.
  • What each display covers.
  • Leased lights and takedown in all.
  • Photos of similar displays.
  • One acceptance line.

Terms and deposit language for holiday lighting

  • Deposit. A deposit at booking holds the install date in a short season and covers lights ordered for this house. Follow your state's deposit rules.
  • Payment. Balance due on install day after the owner sees the lights on.
  • Warranty. Lights that fail during the season are fixed on a service call within the days stated. Damage from storms, animals or people unplugging the timer is not a lighting defect.
  • Lights stay the property of the installer when leased, and are stored for next season.
  • Lights plug into existing outdoor outlets; new outlets need an electrician.
  • Install and takedown dates depend on weather; roofs are not walked when wet or icy.

How to fill it in

  1. Fill in the customer and the job.
  2. Check each option's name, its one-line difference and its lines.
  3. Add your prices; each option totals on its own.
  4. Set tax, the deposit and the good-until date.
  5. Print it, download it, or send it from Koira so the customer can pick and sign on the phone.

FAQ

What holiday lighting options should I offer?

Roofline only, roofline with trees and a wreath, and a full display. Keep the house the same and show a photo of each.

Why show photos on a lighting proposal?

Because owners choose a look, not footage. A photo of a similar house makes the decision in seconds.

When should holiday lighting proposals go out?

Early fall, to last year's customers first, so the best install dates in November fill with people who already know your work before the rush.

Can owners pick a display online?

Yes. From the Koira proposal link they pick a display, sign and pay the deposit that holds the date.
