- For a holiday lighting company, the features that decide the software are measuring from above, seasonal email and text campaigns and deposits at signing.
- Koira covers that list on Grow ($249 a month plus usage), with no per-person fee.
- 2 companies we checked name this trade on their own site: QuoteIQ and GorillaDesk.
- Prices and card rates for QuoteIQ, GorillaDesk and Jobber are from each company's own pages, checked October 8, 2026.
What a holiday lighting company needs from software
Holiday lighting is a six week rush, then takedown in January. The year is decided in October and early November: how many installs are booked, how many of them are last year's customers coming back, and how many quotes you could give without driving to every house.
Then the season runs on logistics. Every install has a takedown, every takedown has a storage question, and both have to land on the calendar when the customer signs.
- Measuring from above. Every roofline quote used to mean a drive-by with a measuring wheel, in the busiest weeks of the year.
- Seasonal email and text campaigns. Last year's customers are the first and cheapest installs of the season, if you reach them before someone else does.
- Deposits at signing. Lights, clips and wreaths are bought before the install, and the deposit should cover them.
- Instant price on your site. A homeowner searching in October wants a number, not a callback.
- Day-before reminders. Install and takedown both need the customer to know you are coming.
- Stops sorted by the drive. Six weeks of installs only fit when every day's stops are in driving order.
The jobs on a christmas light estimate
These are the lines on a Christmas light estimate, from the price list in our free holiday lighting estimate template.
| Job line | Priced by | What the line says |
|---|---|---|
| Roofline lights, installed | ft | Bulb type and color; lights leased or sold. |
| Ridge line lights | ft | Higher work; second story or steep roof. |
| Tree wrap, trunk and branches | each | Tree height and wrap style. |
| Bush and shrub lights | each | Net or string lights per bush. |
| Wreath with lights | each | Size and placement. |
| Garland on railing or door | ft | Lit or unlit. |
| Ground stakes and pathway lights | each | Spacing along the walk. |
| Timer and outdoor cords | set | Outdoor-rated, on existing outlets. |
| Takedown after the season | ft | Lights removed, tested and boxed. |
| Storage until next season | set | Labeled for this house. |
In Koira these go on your price list once. Every estimate, instant price and invoice pulls from it, so a holiday lighting company never types the same line twice, and Koira never writes a number that is not in your records.
A plain checklist for christmas light software
- A first roofline number from above
- A price on your site in October
- Deposit at signing for lights and clips
- Install and takedown booked together
- Last year's customers reached first
- Every stop in driving order
- Storage as its own line
- A review ask while the lights are up
How Koira covers the list
Measuring from above. Koira measures a roof from above, so a first roofline number comes from your price list without the drive. That is on Office, the free plan.
Seasonal email and text campaigns. On Grow, campaigns text and email last year's customers in the fall, with one tap to book.
Deposits at signing. The deposit is paid at signing, so lights and clips are covered.
Instant price on your site. A Get a price button on your site answers from your own price list, day or night.
Day-before reminders. Install and takedown go on the same job as two visits, each with its own reminder.
Stops sorted by the drive. Both visits sit on Today in driving order.
Which software companies list christmas light work

- QuoteIQ names it as Holiday and Christmas Lighting. Read on QuoteIQ industries.
- GorillaDesk names it as Holiday Lighting. Read on GorillaDesk industries.
Read on October 9, 2026 from each company's own page. A company not named here may still serve holiday lighting installers; it just does not name the trade on that page, so ask.

Card rates as each company publishes them (also QuoteIQ online payments), checked October 9, 2026. Koira's is Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card plus Koira's share, which pays for Office in place of a monthly fee.
How to choose
If you drive to every house to quote, start with measuring from above and instant prices, both on Office, the free plan. If last year's list goes quiet, start with campaigns on Grow. Count the seasonal crew you add each fall: Koira charges no fee per person.
Whichever you try, put one real week of christmas light jobs through it before you commit. Koira's Office plan is free with no time limit: start on Office, free, or see every plan on the pricing page. The others offer free trials or demos, so ask.
