- For a painting company, the features that decide the software are options on one estimate, automatic estimate follow-ups, review requests.
- Koira covers that list on Grow ($249 a month plus usage), with no per-person fee.
- Prices for Jobber, Housecall Pro and QuoteIQ are from each company's own page, checked October 8, 2026.
- Count the people who will use it before you compare prices.
What a painting company needs from software
A painting company lives on bids. The work itself is predictable once it is sold: so many square feet, so many gallons, so many days. What decides the year is how fast an estimate goes out, whether anyone follows up on it, and whether the finished job turns into a review and the next job on the street.
So the software that fits a painter is less about dispatch and more about the estimate: options the customer can choose between, a signature and deposit on the same page, a polite follow-up, and the review ask once the invoice is paid.
- Options on one estimate. Walls only, walls and trim, or the full room gives the customer a choice instead of a no.
- Automatic estimate follow-ups. The painter who checks in on day two is the painter who gets the job.
- Review requests. Before and after photos and fresh reviews are how a painter gets picked.
- Deposits at signing. Paint is bought with the customer's money, not yours.
- Estimates. The first estimate in the inbox usually wins.
- Website. Your past jobs should be on a site that books the next one.
A plain checklist for painting software
- Estimates drafted fast, ideally from photos
- Good, better, best on one estimate
- Signature and deposit on the same page
- Follow-up on every open bid
- Invoices sent when you finish
- The review ask after every paid job
- Before and after photos on your site
- Crew stops and hours, if you run crews
How Koira covers the list
Options on one estimate. Koira sends good, better and best from your price list, and it can draft the estimate from your photos.
Automatic estimate follow-ups. Two short, polite texts on day two and day four, then Koira stops.
Review requests. Every paid job gets the review ask an hour later, with your Google link, on every plan.
Deposits at signing. The deposit is paid on the same page the customer signs.
Estimates. Snap the rooms and Koira drafts the estimate from your price list. You confirm the numbers before it goes.
Website. Koira builds your site on Office, the free plan, and job photos post to it.

From Jobber pricing, Housecall Pro pricing and QuoteIQ pricing, checked October 8, 2026. A cell names the lowest plan that lists the feature; "Not listed" means we did not see it, so ask. Jobber's pricing page blocks a plain fetch and changes its prices with a team size picker, so we read it in a real browser. The $29 a month per added user is in the note behind each plan's user count. Part of Housecall Pro's pricing page fills in by script and it was running first-month offers when we checked. The plan prices below are the regular ones its plan cards show. Prices are per month in US dollars and change often, so check the page before you buy.
ServiceTitan is left out of that table because its pricing page does not list prices. It sells Starter, Essentials and The Works per technician on request, and is built for shops with an office.

How to choose
Pull your last twenty bids and mark which ones you won, lost and never heard back on. If the never-heard-back pile is the biggest, follow-ups and options on the estimate matter most. If you won plenty but have few reviews to show for it, look hardest at the review ask.
Then price each tool at your real crew size, because painters often add a helper for exterior season.
Whichever you try, put one real week of jobs through it before you commit. Koira has a free plan, and the others offer free trials, so ask.
