Key takeaways
  • For a remodeling company, the features that decide the software are options on one estimate, invoices in stages, job costing.
  • Koira covers that list on Office (free), with no per-person fee.
  • Prices for Jobber, Housecall Pro and QuoteIQ are from each company's own page, checked October 8, 2026.
  • Count the people who will use it before you compare prices.

What a remodeling company needs from software

Remodeling is long jobs, big numbers and money that moves in stages. A kitchen or a bathroom is sold on a proposal the homeowner can understand, paid for in pieces, and lived with for weeks while the work goes on.

That puts different weight on software than a service trade does. You need the proposal out fast with options, the deposit in before materials, each stage billed without an awkward call, and an honest view of the margin before the last invoice.

  • Options on one estimate. Good, better and best with photos helps a homeowner choose instead of stall.
  • Invoices in stages. Deposit, midpoint and final keep you from floating a job for weeks.
  • Job costing. On a long job you need to know the margin before the last invoice, not after.
  • Customer financing. Pay over time makes the best option possible for more homeowners.
  • Deposits at signing. Materials should be bought with the customer's money.
  • Customer page or portal. A homeowner living through a remodel wants one place to see what is next.

A plain checklist for remodeling software

  • Good, better, best proposals with photos
  • Signature and deposit on one page
  • Progress invoices: deposit, midpoint, final
  • Pay over time for the best option
  • Job costing on long jobs
  • One page where the homeowner sees what is next
  • Change orders when the scope moves
  • Before and after photos on your site

How Koira covers the list

Options on one estimate. Koira drafts three options from your photos and price list, signed and paid on one page.

Invoices in stages. Each stage invoices itself when you mark it done: deposit, midpoint and final.

Job costing. Koira does not do job costing. Its reporting shows what was paid on jobs it touched first, next to what Koira cost.

Customer financing. Affirm or Klarna sit on the pay page; the customer applies on their own phone.

Deposits at signing. Your deposit rule is applied to every estimate and paid at signing.

Customer page or portal. Every customer gets one link to see the visit, sign, pay and book again.

What Koira does not doKoira does not do payroll, inventory or a dispatch board for a call center. If you need those, a larger system may suit you better.

What to compare

These are the features that matter most to a remodeling company, and where each one first appears on each company's public pricing page. It is not a full feature list for anyone, including us.

From Jobber pricing, Housecall Pro pricing and QuoteIQ pricing, checked October 8, 2026. A cell names the lowest plan that lists the feature; "Not listed" means we did not see it, so ask. Jobber's pricing page blocks a plain fetch and changes its prices with a team size picker, so we read it in a real browser. The $29 a month per added user is in the note behind each plan's user count. Part of Housecall Pro's pricing page fills in by script and it was running first-month offers when we checked. The plan prices below are the regular ones its plan cards show. Prices are per month in US dollars and change often, so check the page before you buy.

ServiceTitan is left out of that table because its pricing page does not list prices. It sells Starter, Essentials and The Works per technician on request, and is built for shops with an office.

How to choose

Look at your last three jobs. If you floated material costs on any of them, deposits and progress invoices come first. If a job lost money and you only found out at the end, put job costing at the top, and note that Koira does not do job costing.

Whichever you try, put one real week of jobs through it before you commit. Koira has a free plan, and the others offer free trials, so ask.
