What a security system proposal is for

Security buyers are often choosing between a quick wireless setup and a wired system that keeps recording through Wi-Fi trouble. Three options for the same home, each with devices and what they rely on, help them choose on reliability as well as price, and put the service plan in front of them from the start.

What to put on a security system proposal

  • The same home and coverage in each option.
  • Wireless or wired, and what each relies on.
  • Recorder or cloud storage.
  • Sensors and plan where offered.
  • One acceptance line.

A worked example

Terms and deposit language for security system

  • Deposit. A deposit at booking covers cameras, recorders and panels bought for the job. Follow your state's deposit rules for home improvement and low voltage work.
  • Payment. Balance due at install, after the system is tested and the owner's phone is set up.
  • Warranty. Equipment is under the maker's warranty. You warrant your install and cabling for the time stated. Damage from storms, power surges and tampering is not covered.
  • Monitoring, if chosen, is provided by a central station under its own contract.
  • The owner keeps the admin passwords; you keep only what you need to service the system, with permission.
  • Wi-Fi and internet service are the owner's; cameras that rely on them are only as steady as that service.

How to fill it in

  1. Fill in the customer and the job.
  2. Check each option's name, its one-line difference and its lines.
  3. Add your prices; each option totals on its own.
  4. Set tax, the deposit and the good-until date.
  5. Print it, download it, or send it from Koira so the customer can pick and sign on the phone.

FAQ

What security options should I offer?

Wireless cameras, a wired camera system with a recorder, and wired cameras with sensors and a yearly plan, all covering the same home.

How do I explain wired versus wireless?

Wireless is quick to install but depends on Wi-Fi and often batteries. Wired costs more to install and keeps recording through Wi-Fi trouble.

Should a service plan be one of the options?

Yes, in the top option. A yearly check catches dead batteries, full drives and moved cameras before the owner needs footage.

Can owners choose and sign the security proposal online?

Yes. From the Koira proposal link they choose, sign and pay the deposit, and you can order the equipment the same day.
