What a electrical contractor needs, and where it sits in Housecall Pro
Small jobs, panel upgrades and commercial calls all come in on one phone. Old hours on Google send callers to voicemail: that is the problem software has to fix. Housecall Pro lists electrical among its industries; here is where each thing electricians rely on sits in its plans.
| What you need | Housecall Pro | Koira |
|---|---|---|
| What decides the plan | ||
| Price book Outlets, fans and fixtures should be priced from one list, not from memory. | Basic (price book), Essentials (flat-rate pricing) | Office (your price list) |
| QuickBooks Online sync Electrical work runs on parts, and your books should not need the same invoice typed twice. | Essentials | Grow |
| Automatic estimate follow-ups A panel or EV charger quote is a considered buy, and it goes quiet without a nudge. | Pipeline, listed as a separate product | Grow, on day two and day four, then it stops |
| Worth having | ||
| Instant price on your site | Not listed | Office (free) |
| Options on one estimate | Max (sales proposal tool) | Office, up to three |
| Invoices and online payments | Basic | Office (free) |
From Housecall Pro pricing, checked October 8, 2026. A cell names the lowest plan that lists the feature; "Not listed" means we did not see it, so ask. Part of Housecall Pro's pricing page fills in by script and it was running first-month offers when we checked. The plan prices below are the regular ones its plan cards show. Prices are per month in US dollars and change often, so check the page before you buy.
The Housecall Pro plan a 1 to 3 person electrical contractor ends up on

Automatic estimate follow-ups is not on any Housecall Pro plan card (Pipeline, listed as a separate product). Ask Housecall Pro how electricians handle it today.

Worked example: two electricians sharing $120,000 of overhead
Two electricians sharing $120,000 of overhead, on the free electrician labor rate calculator, comes to $100.41 ($85.35 just to break even).
| Step | The math |
|---|---|
| Paid hours a year | 40 hrs × 52 weeks = 2,080 hrs |
| Hours at work | 2,080 − 10 days off × 8 hrs = 2,000 hrs |
| Billable share of a day | (8 − 2 unbilled) ÷ 8 = 75% |
| Billable hours a year | 2,000 × 75% = 1,500 hrs per electrician, 3,000 in all |
| Labor cost a year | 2 × $30.38 × 2,080 hrs × (1 + 7.65% + 0%) = $136,049 |
| Break-even rate | ($136,049 labor + $120,000 overhead) ÷ 3,000 billable hrs = $85.35 |
Spread over 3,000 billable hours a year, Housecall Pro Essentials at $1,788 a year adds $0.60 to every billable hour. Koira Grow adds $1 an hour.
