Key takeaways
  • Plans sold on your site, estimates and invoices, billed on the card on file, monthly or yearly, and visits that book themselves when due matter most.
  • Koira covers it with no per-person fee: recurring service plans (Front Office); customers book online (Office (free)); day-before reminders (Office, the day before).
  • Prices and card rates for Housecall Pro, FieldPulse, Service Autopilot are from each company's own pages.

What service agreement software does

A service agreement, or maintenance plan, is repeat work sold in advance: two tune-ups a year, a monthly pool visit, quarterly pest treatments. It is the steadiest money a trade business can have, if the billing and the booking take care of themselves.

Where plans fail is the follow-through: a renewal nobody sent, a visit nobody booked, a card that expired. The software that fits sells the plan at the right moment and then runs it without a notebook.

What to look for

  • Plans sold on your site, estimates and invoices
  • Billed on the card on file, monthly or yearly
  • Visits that book themselves when due
  • A failed card handled without a call
  • Plan visits on the day plan with everything else
  • A list of who is on a plan and what renews next
  • Offered right after a good job
  • No renewal calls

How Koira does it

On Koira's Front Office plan, $499 a month flat, you sell maintenance plans on your site, the estimate and the invoice. A customer who just paid for a repair sees the plan that would have covered it, and joins with one tap; the card stays on file.

When a visit comes due, Koira offers times and puts it on your day in driving order with everything else. Plans renew monthly or yearly on their own. If a card fails, Koira asks the customer for a new one by text and tells you if it is still not fixed. You set the visits and the price.

Where Koira is lighterKoira's plans cover the visits and the billing. Koira does not track equipment or parts inventory per customer.

How to choose

Count your customers who would pay for a yearly check if someone asked at the right moment. If that number is more than a few dozen, plans that sell and renew themselves are worth more than any other feature.

Koira's plans and prices are on one page, and Office is free with no time limit.
