- Measure the lot before you go; a first number from a satellite measure sorts serious buyers before you spend the drive.
- The core of landscaping estimating is on Koira's Grow plan, $249 a month plus usage, with no per-person fee.
- Card rates for Jobber, GorillaDesk and Kickserv are from each company's own pages, next to Koira's.
How a landscaping company estimates
Landscaping estimates are two kinds: maintenance priced by the property and the season, and projects priced by materials and labor. Both start with the size of the yard.
For projects, options sell the work: mulch or rock, a small patio or a bigger one, plants now or in phases.
What goes on a landscaping estimate
- Mowing and edging by lot size
- Spring and fall cleanups
- Mulch by the cubic yard
- Shrub trimming and removal
- Planting by plant size
- Rock and edging
- Patio or walkway by the square foot
- Irrigation repair
What estimating software should do for landscapers
- Prices from your own list, never made up
- Options side by side on one estimate
- Signature and deposit on the same page
- Follow-ups that stop when they sign
- Measuring from above, which matters for landscapers
How Koira does it
In Koira, every line on a landscaping estimate comes from your own price list, from mowing and edging by lot size to irrigation repair. An estimate carries up to three options, the customer signs with a finger and pays your deposit on the same page, all on Office, the free plan. Koira can also draft the estimate from a few photos of the job, and never writes a number that is not in your records.
On Grow, $249 a month plus usage at cost, every open estimate is nudged on day two and day four, then the nudges stop. You see who opened it.
For landscapers in particular
- Measuring from above. On every plan, Koira measures a lawn from above for a first number from your price list.
