- For a masonry company, the features that decide the software are measuring from above, options on one estimate and deposits at signing.
- Koira covers that list on Office (free), with no per-person fee.
- 2 companies we checked name this trade on their own site: QuoteIQ and Kickserv.
- Prices and card rates for QuoteIQ, Kickserv and Jobber are from each company's own pages, checked October 8, 2026.
What a masonry company needs from software
Masonry and hardscape work is sold on trust and on a number. The homeowner wants to know what the patio, the wall or the repointing will cost before they let anyone onto the property, and the mason who gets a clear first number back the same day is usually the one who gets asked over to measure properly.
After the sale, the money moves early. Pavers, block, sand and gravel are ordered before the first course is laid, and the customer should be paying for them, not your card.
- Measuring from above. Most patio and walkway calls start with someone asking roughly what it costs, and a measure from above answers that before you load the truck.
- Options on one estimate. Concrete pavers, a border upgrade or natural stone is the conversation most hardscape sales turn on.
- Deposits at signing. Pavers, block and gravel are ordered by the pallet and the ton, and that money should be the customer's, not yours.
- Calls answered by AI. Calls come in while your hands are in mortar, and a caller with a wall to build rings the next mason.
- Invoices in stages. A long retaining wall or a big patio runs over several days, and billing at stages keeps cash coming in.
- Review requests. Masonry lasts for decades and is seen from the street, so a review after the job keeps working for years.
The jobs on a masonry estimate
These are the lines on a masonry estimate, from the price list in our free masonry estimate template. The unit is how each one is usually priced.
| Job line | Priced by | What the line says |
|---|---|---|
| Paver patio, laid on compacted base | sq ft | Paver style, color and pattern; base depth in the note. |
| Excavation and haul-off | cu yd | Dig depth and where the spoils go. |
| Compacted gravel base | ton | Depth after compaction. |
| Segmental retaining wall | sq ft | Face area; block style and caps. |
| Drain pipe and gravel behind wall | ft | Where the water outlets. |
| Repoint brick joints | sq ft | Grind out and refill; mortar type and color match. |
| Brick replacement | each | Spalled or cracked bricks swapped, matched as close as possible. |
| Chimney crown rebuild | each | Cast or formed crown with overhang. |
| Polymeric sand and sealer | sq ft | Joint sand swept and set; sealer if chosen. |
| Steps, block or stone | each | Per step; tread size and riser height. |
In Koira these go on your price list once. Every estimate, instant price and invoice pulls from it, so a masonry company never types the same line twice, and Koira never writes a number that is not in your records.
A plain checklist for masonry software
- A first patio or driveway number from above
- Pavers, border and stone as three options
- Deposit at signing, before the pallets ship
- Staged invoices on long walls
- Calls answered while you lay block
- Change orders for soft brick found behind the face
- A review ask once the work is walked
- Postcards to the street after a big patio
How Koira covers the list
Measuring from above. On Office, the free plan, Koira measures patios and driveways from above for a first number, priced from your own list. You decide which jobs get an instant number and which get a look first.
Options on one estimate. Pavers, a border upgrade or natural stone go on one estimate as good, better and best. The customer picks one, signs with a finger and pays the deposit on the same page.
Deposits at signing. Your deposit rule is applied to every estimate, so the pallet order is paid for when they sign.
Calls answered by AI. On Grow, Koira answers on your number and texts back every missed call within about a minute with three open times.
Invoices in stages. Deposit, midpoint and final invoices go out as you mark each stage done.
Review requests. After every paid job Koira asks for the review, on every plan. Neighbor postcards tell the homes around a finished patio who built it.

How to choose
If you lose patio jobs to whoever answered first, start with the first number and the call answering. If material money is the strain, start with deposits and staged invoices. Koira does the measuring, options and deposits on Office, the free plan, and answers calls on Grow.
Masonry estimating software that does takeoffs from plans is a different tool for bid work on commercial jobs. Koira is built for the homeowner patio, wall and repair.
Whichever you try, put one real week of masonry jobs through it before you commit. Koira's Office plan is free with no time limit: start on Office, free, or see every plan on the pricing page. The others offer free trials or demos, so ask.
