Key takeaways
  • For a sign shop, the features that decide the software are estimates, price book and deposits at signing.
  • Koira covers that list on Office (free), with no per-person fee.
  • One company we checked names this trade on its own site: shopVOX.
  • Prices and card rates for shopVOX, QuoteIQ and Jobber are from each company's own pages, checked October 8, 2026, October 10, 2026 and November 3, 2026.

What a sign shop needs from software

A sign shop of one to a few people sells banners, yard signs, vinyl lettering, vehicle lettering and the occasional storefront sign. Nearly every order comes with a logo file, a size and a date, and the customer wants a price and a proof fast.

Software built for sign shops leans on a pricing engine and online proofing, priced per user. A small shop needs the file on the request, square foot pricing that remembers the setup and rush fees, the deposit before material and a pay link at pickup.

  • Estimates. Every sign order starts with a logo, a size and a date, and the shop that sends a clear price first usually gets it.
  • Price book. Signs are priced by the square foot, the piece and the batch, with design, setup and rush charges that small orders often skip.
  • Deposits at signing. Sheets, vinyl and ink are cut and printed for one customer, so the deposit should come before the material.
  • E-signatures. A signature on the estimate locks the size, the material and the price before production starts.
  • Invoices and online payments. Most orders are paid at pickup or after the install, and a pay link saves the chase.
  • Review requests. Sign buyers look at photos and reviews that say fast and on time.

The jobs on a sign shop estimate

These are the lines on a sign estimate. The unit is how each one is usually priced.

Job linePriced byWhat the line says
Printed aluminum panelsq ftThickness, laminate and whether it is one or two sided.
Coroplast yard signeachSize, sides and stakes included or not.
Vinyl banner with hems and grommetssq ftMaterial weight and finishing.
Cut vinyl letteringsq ftColor and where it goes: window, wall or vehicle.
Vehicle graphicssq ftPartial wrap, door logos or lettering, by the panel.

In Koira these go on your price list once. Every estimate, instant price and invoice pulls from it, so a sign shop never types the same line twice, and Koira never writes a number that is not in your records.

A plain checklist for sign shop software

  • The logo file on the quote request
  • Square foot pricing by material
  • A setup fee for a new design
  • A rush fee for a date that cannot move
  • A deposit before you cut or print
  • A signature that locks the size and price
  • A pay link at pickup or after the install
  • A review ask after every order

How Koira covers the list

Estimates. On Office, the free plan, the quote form on your Koira site takes the logo as a PDF or SVG with photos, and you see the files on the estimate and the job.

Price book. Your price list holds square foot, per piece and per batch lines, with a setup fee, a minimum charge and a rush percentage that ride on every estimate and carry to the invoice.

Deposits at signing. Your deposit rule rides on every estimate and is paid when the customer signs, before you cut a sheet.

E-signatures. Customers sign with a finger on the same page as the deposit.

Invoices and online payments. Mark a job Ready and Koira texts the customer the pickup note with the pay link (from your Koira number on Grow).

Review requests. Every paid job gets the review ask, on every plan.

What Koira does not doKoira does not do online proofing with markup, vendor catalogs or sign design. It does not pull permits or do electrical work; put those on the estimate as their own lines. Koira does not do payroll, inventory or a dispatch board for a call center.

Which software companies list sign shop work

We read the industries pages of the companies we compare on koira.ai and noted which ones name this trade. shopVOX is in the tables below.

QuoteIQ publishes blog roundups of software for sign installation businesses, but sign making is not on its industries page as we read it.

Read on October 10, 2026 from each company's own page. A company not named here may still serve sign shops; it just does not name the trade on that page, so ask.

How to choose

If orders arrive as logo files in your email, start with the quote form. If small orders lose money, put your setup fee, minimum and rush fee on the price list. Both are on Office, the free plan, with no per user fee on any plan.

If you live in online proofing rounds and vendor catalogs with several designers, shopVOX's sign shop tools may fit better; count its per user fee in the price.

Whichever you try, put one real week of sign shop jobs through it before you commit. Koira's Office plan is free with no time limit: start on Office, free, or see every plan on the pricing page. The others offer free trials or demos, so ask.
