Key takeaways
  • For a appliance repair business, the features that decide the software are customers book online, stops sorted by the drive, paid on the spot.
  • Koira covers that list on Office (free), with no per-person fee.
  • Prices and card rates for FieldPulse, Service Fusion and Markate are from each company's own pages.
  • Count the people who will use it before you compare prices.

What a appliance repair business needs from software

Appliance repair runs on volume: several calls a day, each a diagnosis, a repair or a part order and a second visit. The money is in keeping the day full and the drive short.

Two things leak money in this trade. Calls that go unanswered while you work, and return visits where nobody is home. Software that books, routes and confirms takes care of both.

  • Customers book online. A broken fridge is a same-week call, and the customer books whoever offers the first time.
  • Stops sorted by the drive. A day of repair calls spread across town is won or lost on drive order.
  • Paid on the spot. The diagnostic and the repair are best paid before you leave, especially when a part has to be ordered.
  • Calls answered by AI. Calls come while you are behind a washer with your hands full.
  • Day-before reminders. The return visit after a part arrives needs a confirmed time so the customer is home.
  • Price book. Diagnostic fees and common repairs priced from a list keep every tech's quote the same.

A plain checklist for appliance repair software

  • Online booking for repair calls
  • Stops in driving order
  • A diagnostic fee on every visit
  • Return visits confirmed the day before
  • Paid on the spot
  • Calls answered while you work
  • Prices from your list
  • Review asks after each paid job

How Koira covers the list

Customers book online. Customers book online from your site into times that fit the day, on every plan.

Stops sorted by the drive. Today puts every stop in driving order, and new bookings slot in where the drive makes sense.

Paid on the spot. The invoice opens as a QR code on your phone: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or pay over time.

Calls answered by AI. On Grow, Koira answers on a Koira number and books the visit into your day.

Day-before reminders. The day before, Koira texts the customer to confirm or move the visit.

Price book. Your price list drives every estimate; Koira asks you once about anything not on it.

What Koira does not doKoira does not do payroll, inventory or a dispatch board for a call center. If you need those, a larger system may suit you better.

What to compare

The features that matter most to a appliance repair business, and where each first appears on each company's public pricing page, then the people, usage, card and add-on rows every company gets. It is not a full feature list for anyone, including us.

From FieldPulse pricing, Service Fusion pricing and Markate pricing, checked October 9, 2026. FieldPulse's pricing page fills in by script, so we read it in a real browser. It shows no prices. A cell names the lowest plan that lists the feature; "Not listed" means we did not see it, so ask. Prices change often, so check the page before you buy.

Card rates as each company publishes them (also Service Fusion Payments), checked October 9, 2026. Koira's is Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card plus Koira's share, which pays for Office in place of a monthly fee.

How to choose

If you are booked out a week, routing and booking come first. If customers are not home for return visits, reminders come first. Koira does both on the free plan and answers calls on Grow. It does not track parts inventory.

Whichever you try, put one real week of jobs through it before you commit. Koira has a free plan, and the others offer free trials or demos, so ask.
