Key takeaways
  • For a snow removal company, the features that decide the software are recurring service plans, stops sorted by the drive, seasonal email and text campaigns.
  • Koira covers that list on Front Office ($499 flat), with no per-person fee.
  • Prices and card rates for Service Autopilot, Markate and Jobber are from each company's own pages.
  • Count the people who will use it before you compare prices.

What a snow removal company needs from software

A snow business is sold in October and worked in the dark. The seasonal contracts signed before the first storm are the base, and per-push or per-visit work fills in around them.

On a storm night the route is everything: the stops in the right order, the crew knowing where to go, and the customers seeing that their drive was done without calling to ask.

  • Recurring service plans. Seasonal contracts billed on a card on file are what make a snow business predictable.
  • Stops sorted by the drive. On a storm night the order of the route decides who is cleared before work.
  • Seasonal email and text campaigns. Contracts are sold in the fall, so last year's customers need a reminder before the first flake.
  • Measuring from above. A driveway measured from above gives a seasonal price without a visit.
  • Customer page or portal. Customers want to see that you came, and a visit marked done saves the morning calls.
  • Day-before reminders. Salt and walk add-ons are easier to sell with a heads up before the season.

A plain checklist for snow removal software

  • Seasonal contracts sold on your site
  • Billed on the card on file
  • A fall reminder to last year's customers
  • Driveways measured for a seasonal price
  • The route in driving order
  • Each visit marked done where the customer sees it
  • Crew routes when you add a truck
  • Review asks after the season

How Koira covers the list

Recurring service plans. On Front Office, plans are sold on your site and billed on the card on file, monthly or yearly.

Stops sorted by the drive. Today shows every stop in driving order on every plan; crew routes are on Front Office.

Seasonal email and text campaigns. On Grow, past customers get a text when the season comes round, with one tap to sign up.

Measuring from above. Koira measures driveways from satellite images for a first number priced from your list.

Customer page or portal. Each stop marked done shows on the customer's own page, with nothing to download.

Day-before reminders. Koira texts customers ahead of a visit to confirm.

What Koira does not doKoira does not do payroll, inventory or a dispatch board for a call center. If you need those, a larger system may suit you better.

What to compare

The features that matter most to a snow removal company, and where each first appears on each company's public pricing page, then the people, usage, card and add-on rows every company gets. It is not a full feature list for anyone, including us.

From Service Autopilot pricing and Markate pricing, checked October 9, 2026; Jobber pricing, checked October 8, 2026. Jobber's pricing page blocks a plain fetch and changes its prices with a team size picker, so we read it in a real browser. The $29 a month per added user is in the note behind each plan's user count. A cell names the lowest plan that lists the feature; "Not listed" means we did not see it, so ask. Card rates as each company publishes them, checked October 9, 2026. Koira's is Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card plus Koira's share, which pays for Office in place of a monthly fee.

How to choose

If your contracts are signed by phone every fall, campaigns and plans come first. If storm nights are chaos, routes come first. Koira routes on every plan, runs campaigns on Grow and bills plans on Front Office. It does not track salt or equipment.

Whichever you try, put one real week of jobs through it before you commit. Koira has a free plan, and the others offer free trials or demos, so ask.

FAQ

How do I bill snow removal customers?

Seasonal contracts on a card on file are the simplest. On Koira's Front Office plan, plans bill monthly or yearly and visits book themselves.

Can customers see when the plow came?

With Koira each stop is marked done and shows on the customer's own page.

Does Koira charge per person for a snow removal company?

No. Koira costs the same with one person or fifteen. Office is free, Grow is $249 a month plus usage at cost, and Front Office is $499 a month flat.

What does Koira charge on card payments?

Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ for a US card, plus Koira's share: 2% on Office, 1% on Grow and 0.5% on Front Office. The tables above show each company's own card rate next to it.

We know what works. Leave it to Koira.
