Why contractors look past Markate
Markate keeps the base low and lets you add only what you use: the Owner Operator plan is $49.95 a month ($45.95 billed yearly), each employee is $5 a month, and extras like online booking, a branded customer portal and automatic review asks are $10 a month each. Its AI receptionist, Kate, is $1 a call.
The bill grows with the extras and with messages: texts are 5 or 10 cents each and emails are $10 per 2,000. Payments run through Square, so the card rate is Square's. Owners who want booking, reviews and answering on one price sometimes compare.

When to stay with Markate
If you only need a few extras, Markate's a la carte model can cost less than a bundled plan. Price the add-ons you would turn on, plus your text volume, before you switch.
Whichever you try, put one real week of jobs through it before you switch. Koira's Office plan is free, so you can run it next to Markate while you decide.
