Where FieldEdge is the stronger pick

Agreements from the first plan. Basic service agreements are on Select and advanced ones on Premier.

QuickBooks Desktop. FieldEdge lists QuickBooks Online and Desktop on every plan.

Hands-on onboarding. Every plan comes with an onboarding specialist who moves your data in.

Multi-option quotes below the top plan. They are on Premier; Housecall Pro's sales proposal tool is on Max.

Where Housecall Pro is the stronger pick

A price and a trial today. Basic is $79 a month, and the trial is 14 days on Max with no card.

Financing and reviews on the first plan. Consumer financing and review management are on Basic.

Small teams. Basic covers one user and Essentials five, so a one to three person shop can start without a sales call.

What a 1 to 3 person shop would pay

Housecall Pro's costs come off its plan cards. FieldEdge quotes by plan and add-ons, and allows downgrades only at the end of the contract period.

Where Koira fits

For a one to three person HVAC or plumbing shop without an office, Koira covers the day-to-day: the free Office plan has estimates with options and deposits, invoices and the day plan; Grow ($249 a month plus usage at cost) answers the phone and adds QuickBooks Online sync; Front Office ($499 flat) adds maintenance plans.

Koira does not do payroll, inventory or a flat rate database. A multi-truck shop that needs those should compare these two.

How to choose

If you keep QuickBooks Desktop and want agreements on the first plan, get the FieldEdge quote. If you want to start this week without a sales call, start the Housecall Pro trial.
