What this checklist covers
Most paint complaints are prep complaints: a patch that flashes through, caulk that was skipped, paint over grease. Prep takes longer than painting on many jobs, so price it that way.
In homes built before 1978, the EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting rule can apply when you disturb painted surfaces. Check whether it covers your job and follow its work practices.
How to use it
Tick each item as you go. The sheet saves in this browser, so you can close the page and come back. Print a blank copy for the truck, or fill it in on your phone and print or save it as a PDF for the customer at the end.
With Koira: Estimates and change orders
Anything the walkthrough turns up that is outside the scope goes on a new estimate, signed on the customer's phone before you do it. Koira keeps the original, the change and the photos together on the job.
