Why window cleaning plans work
A window cleaning plan sets the visits for the year, two or four, and adds the screens and tracks that make the house look finished.
Window cleaning customers love the result and forget to book again. A plan fixes the forgetting and evens out the route: the same homes, the same weeks, every year, with storefronts on a tighter schedule.
Three tiers to offer
Three tiers give the customer a choice that is not yes or no.
| Tier | What it includes | Example price | Billed monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twice a year | Inside and outside, spring and fall | $320 to $640, typical $480 a year | About $40 a month, typical |
| Quarterly | Inside and outside every three months | $640 to $1,280, typical $960 a year | About $80 a month, typical |
| Quarterly plus | Inside and outside every three months; Screens cleaned; Tracks and sills wiped | $820 to $1,920, typical $1,360 a year | About $113 a month, typical |
From the window cleaning cost calculator's sourced bands for an example home with 20 windows: inside and out $8 to $16, typical $12 a window, screens $1 to $5, typical $3 and tracks $1 to $3, typical $2 a window.
What to put in the plan terms
Write the terms down before the first customer signs, and use the same words on your site, the estimate and the invoice:
- How many windows and which floors are covered
- Hard water and paint removal are extra
- Access and pets
- Billing and renewal
- Cancellation
For the visit itself, use our printable window cleaning checklist so every visit covers the same items.
A sales script that does not sound like one
The best moment to offer a plan is right after a good visit, while the customer is looking at the work. Here is how it can go:
- You: All done. Inside and out, and I wiped the sills.
- Customer: It looks great. I should do this more often.
- You: Most of our customers do it twice a year on our plan. We book it for spring and fall and you do not have to think about it.
- Customer: What about the screens?
- You: The plus plan includes screens and tracks. I can set up either one today.
Say the price as a monthly amount, and offer to add it to today's invoice. Then stop talking.
Price your own plan
The examples above are national numbers. Your plan price should come from your own labor, drive time, parts and overhead. The calculator above does that math for any trade: visits, hours, parts, the member discount and your margin. For the per-visit prices, the window cleaning cost calculator has the sourced ranges.
Launch this plan in Koira
Maintenance plans are part of Koira's Front Office plan, $499 a month flat. Koira offers the plan on your site, on the estimate and on the invoice, bills the card on file monthly or yearly, and books each visit when it comes due, so plan visits land on your day with everything else. See how maintenance plans work in Koira, or start on Front Office.
On the free Office plan you can still sell the visits one at a time with estimates and invoices.
