A floor plan is a drawing of one level from above, showing walls, doors, windows, rooms and their dimensions.
Where it matters on a general contracting job
A measured floor plan is the basis for flooring, drywall, paint and remodel takeoffs. Measure it yourself on site; old plans rarely match the house as built.
