What elevation drawing means
An elevation is a straight on drawing of one face of a building or wall, showing heights, openings and finishes.
Also called elevation.
Where it matters on a general contracting job
Siding, painting and window jobs are taken off from elevations. Count each face, including the gables and dormers that a floor plan does not show.
