The short version
Customer financing lets a homeowner pay for a job over time while you get paid in full. There are three ways to offer it: a buy now, pay later option on your pay page, a lender program you enroll in as a dealer or merchant, or a marketplace where the customer compares personal loans.
They differ in who pays the fee, how big a job they cover, and when you get your money. The table below puts all of them in the same columns, from each provider's own pages.
Every provider, side by side
| How the customer pays | Amounts | Terms | Customer APR | Your cost per job | When you are paid | Setup | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Koira pay page | Affirm or Klarna, chosen by the customer on Koira's pay page | Invoices from $50 to $30,000 | Set by Affirm or Klarna | Set by Affirm or Klarna; the customer sees it when they apply | Stripe's rate (Affirm 6% + 30¢, Klarna 5.99% + 30¢) plus Koira's 2%, 1% or 0.5% by plan | Into your own Stripe account, like a card payment | Nothing to apply for; it is part of the pay page on every plan |

From Service Finance Company, GreenSky home improvement, Wisetack for home services, Sunbit rates and terms, Acorn Finance for contractors, Hearth pricing, Synchrony home improvement and Stripe pricing for buy now, pay later, each read on its own site on October 9, 2026. "Not published" means the provider does not list it on its public pages, so ask. Rates and terms change and depend on the customer's credit.
Three kinds of customer financing
- Pay later on your pay page. Affirm or Klarna appear next to card and wallet when the customer pays. Nothing to enroll in; you pay a higher processing rate on the payments that use it. Koira's pay page works this way for invoices from $50 to $30,000.
- Dealer and merchant programs. Service Finance, GreenSky, Wisetack and Synchrony enroll your business. The customer applies through you, and you are paid by the lender. Fees are per transaction or set in the agreement.
- Loan marketplaces. Acorn Finance and Hearth let the homeowner compare personal loans from several lenders with $0 dealer fees. The customer pays you from their loan; Hearth charges a subscription instead.
Which one fits your jobs
- Most tickets under $30,000 and you want nothing to set up: pay later on the pay page.
- Big home improvement jobs with promotional no-interest plans: a dealer program like Service Finance or GreenSky.
- Home service jobs from $500 sent by text, with a flat published fee: Wisetack, at 3.9% per transaction.
- You never want to pay a dealer fee: a marketplace like Acorn Finance, or Hearth if you want its sales app too.
- Repeat customers who come back for more work: a contractor credit card like the Synchrony Project Card.
Before choosing, run your average job through the monthly payment calculator and see what the customer would pay each month.
How to offer it well
Show the monthly number next to the price on the estimate, mention financing before the customer asks, and let the lender handle the application and the disclosures. The full walk-through is in how to offer customer financing.
