What this checklist covers
ENERGY STAR advises checking the cooling system in spring, because contractors get busy once summer comes. Its cooling items are cleaning the evaporator and condenser coils, checking the refrigerant level, and cleaning and adjusting blower components. It notes that dirty coils make the system run longer and that too much or too little refrigerant makes it less efficient.
The rest of the list is ENERGY STAR's every-visit items, plus clearing the area around the outdoor unit and recording readings so next year's visit has something to compare against. For heating, use the fall checklist.
How to use it
Tick each item as you go. The sheet saves in this browser, so you can close the page and come back. Print a blank copy for the truck, or fill it in on your phone and print or save it as a PDF for the customer at the end.
With Koira: Seasonal reminders
