Koira vs Jobber: a Jobber alternative for a solo or small shop

If you are looking for a Jobber alternative, you probably already know what Jobber does well: it keeps your clients, quotes, jobs and invoices in one app, and it has years of polish behind it. The question is whether that is the problem you need solved. For many one to three person shops, the real problem is not organizing the work. It is the calls missed from a roof, the estimates that go quiet and the invoices typed at night. This page compares the two honestly. Jobber facts come from Jobber's pricing page, checked October 8, 2026. Koira facts come from our own pricing and feature pages.

Key takeaways
  • Jobber is a job management app you run: scheduling, quotes, invoices and payments, with automation and add-ons as you move up its plans.
  • Koira is built to run the office for you: it answers the phone, follows up, invoices on done, asks for reviews and mails the neighbors.
  • Jobber prices each plan by team size and adds users at $29 a month each; Koira has no per-person fee and a free plan with 2% on card payments.
  • Jobber is the better pick if you need QuickBooks Online sync today, a large app marketplace, GPS tracking or Tap to Pay.

Who each one is built for

Jobber lists plans for everyone from "the pro who wants to build and grow their business" on Core to teams of 5, 10 or 15 users on Plus, and its industries list runs from cleaning and lawn care to HVAC, plumbing, roofing and tree care. It is a tool you work in: you build the schedule, send the quote, set up the reminders and choose which automations to turn on. The more you want automated, the higher the plan.

Koira is built for the solo owner and the small crew who do not want to work in software at all. It builds your site from your business, answers the phone on your number, texts back missed calls, drafts estimates from your photos and your price list, follows up on bids, sends the invoice when you tap done, asks for the review an hour after payment and mails postcards to the neighbors. You decide what Koira can send on its own. On Standard it drafts and you tap; on Turbo, part of the Grow plan, it sends for you.

KoiraMonthlyKoira's share of card payments

Grow$249 + usage at cost1%, plus Stripe's processing
Front Office$499, usage included0.5%, plus Stripe's processing

Koira is month to month on every plan, with no per-person fee. Card payments go straight to your own Stripe account; Stripe's processing for a US card is 2.9% + 30¢, and Koira's share comes on top of that.

So which costs less? For a solo owner who only needs quoting and invoicing and takes a lot by card, Jobber Core can. Koira's 2% on $2,450 of card payments in a month equals Jobber Core's $49. Above that volume, Core's flat fee is cheaper on paper. The picture changes as you add people and want the phone answered. A three person shop on Jobber Grow with the Receptionist pays $286 a month on no commitment ($199, plus two users at $29, plus $29). Koira Grow is $249 plus usage at cost and 1% of card payments, the same with three people or fifteen.

What Koira does differently

It answers the phone, not just the inbox. Koira's AI receptionist picks up on your number. When you cannot, it texts the caller back in about a minute with three open times that fit your day, in English or Spanish, and the one they pick lands on your schedule. Jobber's Receptionist is a $29 add-on that Jobber says answers calls and texts and can book jobs, so both now cover this; the difference is that Koira's comes with the rest of the follow-through on Grow.

It builds and keeps up your website. Both include a website. Koira writes the pages from your trade, your towns and your price list, adds a page for every town you work, posts a finished job each month from your own photos and keeps your Google and Bing listings matching. See contractor website and contractor SEO.

Estimates from photos, with three options. Snap the job and Koira drafts good, better and best from your price list. The customer signs and pays the deposit on one page, and Koira nudges on day two and day four, then stops. Jobber's Grow plan has quotes with photos, reviews and optional line items, and Connect automates quote follow-ups.

A price before they call. Koira's instant quotes answer from your price list on your site and can measure a roof, lawn or driveway from satellite images for the first number. It is on every plan, including Office.

Work that brings the next job. After each paid job Koira can print and mail postcards to the 50 nearby homes most likely to hire you, asks for the Google review, and on Grow runs seasonal text and email campaigns to past customers.

It shows the money. What Koira brought in counts the dollars paid on jobs Koira touched first, next to what Koira cost. Anything Koira sends can be pulled back for ten minutes.

When Jobber is the better choice

Koira is not the right answer for everyone. Pick Jobber if:

  • You need QuickBooks Online today. Jobber syncs with it from the Connect plan. Koira's QuickBooks connection is built and waiting on Intuit's review, so it is not live yet.
  • You rely on other apps. Jobber lists 100+ tools in its app marketplace. If your shop already runs on a stack of connected apps, that matters.
  • You want Tap to Pay or bank payments. Jobber lists Tap to Pay at 2.7% + 30¢ and ACH at 1%. Koira takes payment by QR code at the door, by card or phone wallet, with financing on the pay page.
  • You want job costing and detailed reports. Jobber's Grow plan has job costing; Plus adds custom reports and expense automation.
  • You like to run every step yourself. If you would rather build the schedule, write every message and approve every send, Jobber's tool-first approach suits that well.
  • Your team works in Spanish in the field. Jobber's mobile app is available in Spanish to team members (not admins or owners), per its FAQ. Koira handles Spanish with customers: they write in Spanish, Koira answers in Spanish and you read it in English.

When Koira is the better choice

  • You are on the tools all day and miss calls you cannot get back to.
  • You want follow-ups, invoices and review asks sent without remembering to.
  • You are adding a helper and do not want the bill to grow with every login.
  • You want a site, listings and town pages that keep themselves current.
  • You want to start free and only pay more when the phone side is worth it.

Switching from Jobber

Start with Koira's free Office plan while Jobber is still running. Koira builds your site and price list from your business, so you can compare quotes and invoices side by side before you move anything. When you are ready for the phone, move to Grow. Because both are month to month on the right plan, you are not locked into either. If you prepaid a year of Jobber, you keep access until the term ends; plan the switch for then.

Questions contractors ask

What is the best Jobber alternative for a one person business?

It depends on what eats your time. If it is organizing jobs, Jobber Core at $49 a month (or $29 billed annually) is a fair choice. If it is missed calls, follow-ups and invoicing at night, Koira does that work for you, starting free and moving to Grow at $249 a month plus usage when you want the phone answered.

Is Koira cheaper than Jobber?

Sometimes. Koira's Office plan is free but keeps 2% of card payments on top of Stripe's processing, so a solo owner taking a lot by card may pay less on Jobber Core. With more people, Koira's lack of a per-person fee and the receptionist included on Grow often close the gap. Work it out with your own card volume and headcount.

Does Koira have an AI receptionist like Jobber's?

Yes, on the Grow plan. It answers on your number and texts back missed calls in about a minute with three open times, in English or Spanish. Jobber's Receptionist is a $29 a month add-on, included in Plus, checked October 8, 2026.

Does Koira sync with QuickBooks?

Not yet. The connection is built and waiting on Intuit's review, and it will turn on with the Grow plan. Jobber syncs with QuickBooks Online from its Connect plan.

Can I move my customers from Jobber to Koira?

You can run both while you switch. Start Koira's free Office plan, compare a few quotes and invoices, then move over when you are ready. If you get stuck, text or email us and a person on our team answers.

Does Koira charge per user like Jobber?

No. Koira costs the same with one person or fifteen. Jobber prices each plan by team size (1, 5, 10 or 15 users), and its plan cards say you can add users for $29 a month each.

Is there a contract with either one?

Koira is month to month on every plan. Jobber offers a no commitment monthly option, a 1 year commitment billed monthly and a prepaid annual plan that is not refunded if you cancel early.
