Get a Koira number under Settings › Your number: a new one you forward your cell to, or your own number moved to Koira. Then, under Settings › Turbo, pick Koira answers (it takes the problem, the address, when, a callback number and the name) or Text them back. Every call and text lands in Convos.

Step by step
- Get the number
Open Settings › Your number. Two choices:
- New Koira number, forward my cell. Your site, cards and Koira use the new number, and you forward your cell to it when you are busy. It is live the same day.
- Move my number to Koira. Customers keep the number they know. Calls still ring your phone and every text lands in Koira. Moving a number takes a few business days, and nothing changes for callers while it moves; Koira texts you when it is done.
- Put your cell on file
Koira rings your own cell for calls you can take. Make sure your cell is in Settings under Your business.
- Choose what happens when you cannot pick up
Open Settings › Turbo and find When you cannot pick up:
- Koira answers. Koira picks up, takes the details and books or takes a message. Emergencies are put through to you.
- Text them back. A missed call gets a text from your line within half a minute, and voicemail. The conversation carries on by text.
This choice is there whether Turbo is on or not.
- Register texting
Text-back and booking confirmations go out as texts, and carriers only deliver them once your number is registered. Koira files it for you: see register your Koira number for texting.
- Tell Koira about the business
The answers come from what Koira knows: your services and prices, your hours, the towns you work and anything under Knowledge in Settings. Fill those in and the receptionist answers from them.
What the receptionist asks a caller
It works through the same short list every time, in this order: what the problem is, the address (or the town or ZIP), when they need it, a number to call back on, and their name. If the caller uses an emergency word or asks for a person, Koira puts the call through to your cell with your business line as the caller ID. If you do not pick up, it finishes taking the details and marks the call urgent.
How text-back works
On Text them back, a call during your hours rings your cell first. You hear who the call is for and the caller's number, and you press 1 to take it. If you do not, the caller gets a text from your line asking what they need, and can leave a voicemail. You read and answer the thread in Convos.
Where you see the calls
Every call, text and site chat lands in Convos, with what Koira did about it: booked, message taken, texted back. A voicemail is attached to its call. More on the feature on the AI receptionist page.
Plans and usage
The Koira number, the receptionist and text-back come with Grow and Front Office. Call minutes and texts are usage: passed through at cost on Grow, included on Front Office. Prices are on Koira pricing.
