Open Settings, then Texting and the morning text, and tap Register texting. Type your legal business name, your EIN (or pick Sole proprietor), and your address; Koira writes the sample texts and the opt-in description and files the brand and campaign. When the carriers approve, one tap on Turn texting on puts your number on the campaign.

Step by step
- Get your Koira number first
Registration is for the line Koira texts from, so the number comes first. Set it up under Settings › Your number (the receptionist setup walks through it). Until there is a line, the form says Get a number first.
- Open the texting row
Go to Settings and open Texting and the morning text. The row reads Not registered and the button says Register texting.
- Pick what kind of business you are
Three choices: LLC or corporation, Sole proprietor, no EIN, or Non-profit. Pick the one on your tax paperwork.
- Type the four things Koira cannot know
Your legal business name, exactly as it is on your tax paperwork. Your EIN, nine digits, unless you picked sole proprietor. Your street, city, state and ZIP. The contact email and website start filled in from your account; change them if they are wrong.
- File it
Tap File it with the carriers. Koira files a brand (who you are) and a campaign (what you send and how customers agree to it) with the carriers' registry. The row changes to Submitted, waiting on the carriers' registry.
- Turn texting on
When the registry approves, the row reads Approved. One tap turns texting on. Tap Turn texting on. Koira puts your number on the approved campaign and the row reads Registered and on.
Why carriers ask for this
A2P 10DLC is the system US carriers use for texts a business sends through software from a regular 10 digit number. Telnyx, the phone company behind Koira's business lines, says that from February 3, 2025, any 10DLC traffic which is not registered is blocked altogether. That is why the row in Settings says carriers block texts from your line until this is done.
Calls are not part of it. Your number rings and the receptionist answers while the registration is pending. For the background on brands, campaigns and opt-in rules, read A2P 10DLC for contractors.
What Koira writes for you
Everything on the campaign except your legal details is Koira's own text, so you do not have to know how carriers want it worded:
- Two sample texts with your business name in them: a visit confirmation and a job done message with the total and a pay link. Both end with Reply STOP to opt out.
- How customers opt in: by texting or calling your number, by booking a time on your website (they type their number and agree to a confirmation text), or by asking you for a text in person.
- What you send: appointment confirmations, on the way notices, invoices and payment links, review requests, and replies to customers who text the business line.
Those are the texts Koira sends from your line, which keeps the campaign honest. How Koira handles consent and STOP is in the SMS terms.
No EIN? File as a sole proprietor
Pick Sole proprietor, no EIN and the EIN field goes away. After filing, the carriers verify a sole proprietor with a code texted to the owner's mobile, so keep your cell nearby that day.
While you wait
Nothing that needs a text is lost. Estimates and invoices can still go out by email from your business via Koira, with replies to your own inbox, and every customer link can be copied and sent from your own phone. The send sheet says why a text is not available: No texting line yet, or Carriers are blocking texts from your line right now.
If the registry says no
The row reads Rejected by the carriers' registry and the Register texting button comes back. Check that the legal name and EIN match your tax records exactly, then file again. If you are stuck, text Koira from the app or email hello@koira.ai and a person on the team looks at it.
